Dispatches From a Number Station #3, the rebirth of my essay/zine/whatever-this-is series with a new focus on politics and resistance against the status quo, whatever it happens to be at the moment. In this issue, I invent a conspiracy theory that the Democrats purposely lost the 2024 election. 4 pages, 16pt font.

Baldur's Gate 3 Mods

Custom Class - Action Star - The Last Weapon Action Hero, a custom class that allows you to expend Ki Points to use selected weapon actions freely. Think of it as a melee based spellcaster. Includes 3 subclasses and progressions up to Level 12.

Construct Subrace Compilation, a mod that adds an additional subrace to Tieflings, Halflings, Gnomes, Drow, Elves, Dwarves, and Half-Elves called "Construct". First and foremost, it adds the Construct tag to your character, which has several gameplay mechanic, such as healing spells and some buffs not working on you. It also adds several passives; namely, over several levels it grants you an additional bonus action and reaction, increased movement speed, and jump distance. It also makes you resistant to physical damage and lightning damage, however you are weak to thunder (you are an object) and psychic damage (you are a brain hosted in a mechanical construct). You have advantage on strength, constitution, and dexterity saving throws, but disadvantage on charisma, wisdom, and intelligence saving throws. You are immune to poison, poison damage, necrotic damage, bleeding, and disease, for obvious reasons (no blood, no lungs, etc). Give it a shot, let the passives tell the story. If you want a broken version of this mod, try the Integration version. It has all the features of the regular, except your unarmed strikes do a flat +10 damage due to your metal body, and since you are an object, you are Sturdy, meaning all incoming damage must overcome a 10hp threshold to damage you. Sturdy is the rating given to wooden doors, so i feel it's fair. The best art of this mod? Since it's all subraces, it works with all your mods for the parent race! All your heads, hairs, and other CC features will work, but the only problem is I couldn't get body types 3 and 4 working. May fiddle with this later. This mod ONLY includes passives and the like. It does NOT include custom visuals, such as tattoos or spells, of any kind.

Construct Class, which is a class based version of the above mod. I STRONGLY suggest using the above mod instead. The only reason to use this mod is if you want to play as a Human, Githyanki, Dragonborn, Half-Orc, or a custom race. The reason for this being is, there is no progression really to speak of. You get one level, and then you MUST multiclass out of it, or you'll hang the game. It's just no fun when all of your passives activate at once, but alas, it's a hacky solution.
